Tons of Fun!

Ella is nearing 4 months old and we're loving all of her new "skills."  She's quite the mover and shaker right now and has started talking and laughing quite a bit.  We find ourselves commenting how we could just watch her talk all day.  Here she is after a bath.  She's starting to grab her feet and would have them in her mouth along with everything else if she could.

She hasn't quite learned the art of flirting as seen below with her boyfriend Wyatt when we all went to Keystone.

She loves stroller rides!

Ella really enjoys watching herself in the mirror.  She's so vain.  Wonder where she gets that???

Here she is working on her rolling skills.  So close!

We've got an exciting couple of months coming up.  Gram and Doc will be here next week then Grammy arrives with a bunch of crazy ladies.  In October, we'll be attempting our first plane trip.  We'll be going to Florida with Matt for a business trip then a little Vacay.  Can't wait!

3 Months Old!

Our baby girl is now three months old!  Boy is it convicting to see that the last blog we did was at 2 months.  We'll have to get on it.  She now weighs 13 lbs and 13 oz.  At our last check, she was in the 90th percentile for height and weight.  Not a tiny girl!  She has some adorable rolls that we just can't kiss enough.

We went to Keystone with our good friends, the Huffs, for the Bluegrass and Beer festival.  Ella had a great time dancing to some good music and hanging out with her boyfriend, Wyatt.  She also swam for the first time.  She wasn't too sure what to think at first but ended up enjoying herself.

She is quite a happy little girl.  She loves smiling and cooing at Mom and Dad.  She thinks we're hilarious.  We think a laugh will show up any day now.  We've been working on napping in the crib instead of only at night.  She isn't enjoying that too much.  Baby steps.  Ella is going to daycare two days a week starting tomorrow as Kate is going back to work.  We're convinced that it will be harder on us than on her.

Life in the Johnson house is good.  The summer has flown by.  We feel like Ella changes by the day and somehow manages to get cuter and cuter.  Enjoy the rest of her three month pics.

2 Months Old!

Our baby girl is two months old today! In our humble opinions, she's getting cuter by the day! Sometimes we think she knows it too.

She's getting bigger and bigger, as is her smile!  We just can't get enough of it!  We have her 2 month check up next week and we're betting she's well over 12 pounds by now.  Still seems like a long girl, but her momma is thankful for the chunky rolls she's accumulating, especially those thighs!

She's talking much more now.  We have lengthy conversations about life, theology, politics, etc.  She has some friend named Ike, whose name she screams whenever she's upset.  "Ike, Ike, Ike!"  We'll have to post a video of that when we can capture it.

Her favorite place to nap is as close to us as humanly possible.  It's a quick way to get her to sleep, but it sure doesn't let us get much done.

She's starting to hold her head up much more and always wants to look around.  She still digs looking out the window more than any of her toys.  We're hoping she takes a liking to them soon.  She also enjoys looking at the pretty baby in the mirror.

Matt and I are thoroughly enjoying parenthood.  All of our friends weren't kidding when they said our lives would never be the same again.  But we wouldn't want it any other way.  We love weekends when Daddy gets to be home.  If only we could both retire!  We are missing a full night's sleep, though.

We enjoyed Matt's first Father's Day.

Here she is with her boyfriend, Wyatt.  Aren't they cute!  They aren't really very interested in each other yet.

Thanks for reading!  Here are a few more 2 month pics for your enjoyment.  We haven't created a diva, have we?

Lots of Videos

We've had a request from Grammy to post videos of our beautiful girl. Keep in mind she isn't doing anything really exciting yet; however, any shots of the baby are sweet nectar to grandparents many miles away. So feel free to check out her montage below.

One Month!

Ella turned one month on Sunday and boy has it flown by!  Her days are filled with endless cycles of eating, a little bit of smiling and watching mommy, daddy, or windows, some sleepy fussing, and napping.

She loves:
Dancing with her mom or dad
Staring at the light
Eating
Pooping right after we change her
Cuddling
Riding in the car
Going for walks
Going to movies (just saw Iron Man 2-very loud and she slept right through it!)
Getting really fussy right when Mom and Dad are sitting down to dinner
Sticking out her tongue

She doesn't love:
Bath time (we're hoping that changes soon)
Staying awake for very long after eating
Letting her mom and dad sleep at 2:30 and 5 or 6 am

Once I learned where Ella will peacefully nap, I was finally able to get a few things done during the day.  We'll cry when she gets too big to sleep in her car seat.

She is finally doing much better at night.  Every once in a while she'll give us a five hour stretch.  But even when she wakes up more frequently, she goes back to sleep quickly.  She smiles a ton now, which makes those 3 am feedings bearable.

On Fridays, Ella likes to go up to Evergreen to see her small group friends and boyfriends.  Here she is with her boyfriend, Wyatt.  It appears she's already making him drool.

Here she is with her other boyfriend Boden's mom, Stephanie.

Stay tuned for more fun pics as she begins interacting more!

Ella's Fan Club

Ella has received lots of visitors both at the hospital and at home.  She asked us to give them all a shout out here on her blog.

Ella's Grammy (Grandma Fejfar) was there to see her arrival and her Gram (Gramma McKechnie) came to the hospital soon after.

Kate's boss, Auntie Elycia, couldn't wait to come meet Ella.

Boden's mom and dad, Ty and Steph, came down from Evergreen.

Wyatt (Ella's boyfriend) and his parents Brendan and Brooke also came down from Evergreen.

Atley's parents, Kent and Kelyn, made the trek from Greeley to see Ella.

Matt and Kent began planning a girls only pheasant hunting trip, excluding all the dads with boys.

Jeff and Jami, friends from our small group.

Josie, Emmy and Zane's mom and Kate's old college roomie.

Zack, he came with Jos.

Grammy was anxiously awaiting us at home.

Grandma and Grandpa Johnson couldn't wait to get their hands on their first grandbaby.

Great Uncle Cliff

Aunt Shirley

Cousins Brody and Dalton

Great Aunt Amy and cousin Preslyn

Four Generations of Wild, Wonderful Women

Uncle Paul and Aunt Shirley

Whitney and Jake, friends from Evergreen.

Needless to say, Ella has been spoiled rotten with all the grandparents and visitors.  Mom and Dad are looking forward to a quiet week at home before Dad goes back to work.
